History quality & technology

Dolciaria Chirico was founded in 1969 with Francesco Chirico. Having emigrated to Switzerland in 1954, at just 18 years old, he gained over 15 years' experience in a confectionery company in Zurich. Returning to his native land, he decided to undertake entrepreneurial activity and in 1969 Dolciaria Chirico was born, based in Cursi, in a space of just over 200 m2. The first customers were the protagonists of the confectionery industry of the 70s: Ditta Sirena, Vecchia Milano, Manardi. In 2000 the company moved to the new headquarters in Carpignano Salentino and currently operates on an area of approximately 4000 m2. While maintaining its identity with the production of the legendary and timeless "frutteto" of Swiss origin, the company looked to the future and started a production first of sparkling wine and then of marshmallows deposited in 3D. It currently operates internationally and has classic, Kosher and Halal production with BRC and IFS certifications.
The company, sensitive to the environment, has undertaken a path of environmental sustainability since 2010, managing to install over 200 KW of photovoltaic panels. To date, over 80% of the energy used comes from solar energy.
